Minute7: Rails 6.0 to 7.2 at 50K requests a day
Minute7 is a time and expense tracking service with QuickBooks integrations. I was the full-stack engineer on it from November 2024 to November 2025.

The problem
A production app on Rails 6.0 with a React front end, an AWS deployment pipeline and two QuickBooks integrations (Online and Desktop) that all had to move together.
What I did
- Upgraded Rails from 6.0 to 7.2 and the React front end alongside it.
- Rebuilt the AWS Elastic Beanstalk deployment pipeline.
- Upgraded the QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop integrations.
- Improved platform performance to support 50K+ requests a day.
- Reworked the QuickBooks Web Connector import to run in bulk with pagination for large inventory sets, fixed sync timeouts, and made import hashing consistent to stop duplicate records.
Result
Rails 7.2 in production, 50K+ requests a day.
I was retained afterwards for the QuickBooks Web Connector work.
Stack
Great working with Konstantin! While there were a few minor hiccups in the project, overall we were glad to complete everything we needed for our platform upgrade.
