Zipchat: RAG and search for a Shopify AI chatbot
Zipchat is an AI sales chatbot for Shopify stores. I worked on it as a full-stack engineer, finishing in November 2023.
The problem
A live chatbot whose answers depended on retrieval quality, and whose admin dashboard and request path needed to get faster.
What I did
- Improved retrieval (RAG) over store data using a vector database.
- Integrated search tools into the chatbot's function-calling flow.
- Improved response performance.
- Optimised the admin dashboard.
Result
Faster answers and better retrieval.
